Can You Be Unique? - The phrase "Unique" makes many people uncomfortable. They think it implies one person stands out from the rest. While, for those who are really invested in becoming unique, being the one, and not having someone else be the same can be a challenge.
For example, how many times have you been shopping at a store and when you get to the cashier or checkout person the first thing they do is ask if you're wearing Uniqlo? I know I've been there. It's a really good question, because not everyone is wearing Uniqlo but to me it all seems to be about being different so how can I be truly unique?
It's actually quite simple. All you need to do is to know what you stand for. Uniqlo is a brand that is differentiated by the customer who uses it and Uniqlo will have them and Uniqlo's Brand.
Someone who lives in New York and is into fashion can't wear a company that has been around for over 100 years. Someone who lives in the Midwest can't wear a company that has only been around for a year. Someone who lives in the South can't wear a company that is recently expanding and doesn't have enough history. Someone from Ohio can't wear something that someone who lives in New Jersey can.
While some may feel like they are standing out because they are different, that may not be the case and they can still be Uniqueness. These people do the things that are considered not only quirky but unique. They show off their sense of humor, or maybe they dress a certain way and someone else would never wear that type of clothing.
Unique is also about having an appetite for learning. Because if you're unique you don't really care about fashion. You are comfortable with yourself and your body and being uniquely you will make others feel comfortable about themselves. Being unique does not mean you must feel embarrassed or feel self-conscious about wearing the clothes you wear.
Just because we know that many other people are unique, does not mean that we have to be. There are lots of people who are unique but often are not recognized for it. We just have to do the best we can every day of our lives and when we hit the open road do what we do best.
If you are trying to find yourself, uniqueness can be a good place to start. Look for other people who are Uniqueness and make up your own niche. Try to be unique, and, in doing so, you will find that your life will become unique as well. Because it's always better to be unique than different.
