Life is a journey with many milestones. Of course, your goal is to get to your job every day. But you also might think of other important life goals, such as a specific job you want to have, for example. Perhaps a magazine article you read in the news, or a new book you want to read, or a meeting or event you'd like to attend. Whatever you want, it's the journey and the next experience that are important. When you are committed to living your life with great passion, you will not be afraid to make the decisions.
One of the most important jobs we can give ourselves is to fully experience life. It's one thing to listen to your intuition, but something entirely different to experience life from start to finish. To do so, we need to join a community of other passionate people who want to create a life they are passionate about. There are many ways to start, from simply meeting up with like-minded people online, to meeting others at your local college and introducing yourself. Then there are good books that we have come across to help us create a more interesting perspective
Just doing it is less stressful and less time-consuming than constantly re-evaluating your work to improve your skills, since you are always picking up new things. If you are passionate about finding new ways to solve people's problems, and you know that there is a market for your ideas, you will be surprised by how much you can improve your reputation and your career potential by putting your ideas into practice.
If your creative work is not well integrated into your day to day life, I'd like to see you make a conscious effort to incorporate some type of creative endeavor into your schedule. The combination of ten minutes a day for a new activity, coupled with a set of flexible, five day workweeks will give you the freedom to pursue your passions..
Learning to really get your head down and work hard (even at the boringest or most predictable jobs) is an important skill and one that seems particularly under-valued in a conventional work force. When your mind, body and soul are completely occupied, your ability to generate creativity and efficiency diminishes. If you find yourself feeling the urge to take a break and contemplate life, my advice is to join a yoga class or go for a walk.
Your focus on creative endeavors will make you feel good about what you do and will add to your productivity by giving you a sense of purpose. These things are incredibly helpful to you in terms of motivation as well.
Your competitive nature will help you work with less pressure on yourself, which will only be beneficial in the long run. This in turn will make you feel in control of your work. People also find it very difficult to devote themselves to a career or a job because they lose focus on their long-term goals and ambitions.
