Seven steps to finding your life purpose. Sounds simple, right? Well, yes, it is...but it isn't. The first step is to decide what you want to do or be.
Do you want to be a doctor? A lawyer? An engineer? All these careers have meaning and rewards; and all require an education.
You'll need to decide how you'll get that education. Do you want to go to school? Take classes? Study at home? There are lots of ways to learn - you just need to find the ones that work best for you.
The next step is to find a college or university that suits your needs. Are you looking for a degree in Psychology? Law? Business? Computational Science?
The third step is to research your options. What do you want to learn more about? What would you like to know more about? How will you study if you need to do all your work on the go?
The fourth step is to set some goals. What do you need to learn and do in order to achieve these goals? When you know where you're headed, it's much easier to get there. You won't feel so overwhelmed or uncertain if you know where you're headed.
And finally, you need to start taking action! The first two steps were probably easier for you than they were for me. The third step, taking action, may be harder for you than it ever has been for me. So take your time. Don't expect to find your life purpose within a day or even a couple weeks.
But that doesn't mean you can't do it! You are going to need to take consistent, focused action towards finding what you really want. It's going to take a lot of work, but it can be done. If you follow these simple steps, you're well on your way to finding the life you were meant to live.
Step One:
Discovering your purpose is the first step towards finding your life's meaning. Your purpose may be to become financially independent. Or maybe you want to become a teacher or a spiritual person. Your purpose does not have to be exactly what you've thought it should be.
Instead, think about what you would love to do. What is it that makes you happy? What aspects of your life are most important to you? Why do you do the things you do? Where do you see yourself ten years from now?
Step Two:
After discovering your purpose, you need to figure out how to get started. This is the toughest step. You need to decide exactly what you are going to do. Will you study to become a teacher? Go into business? There are many different ways to go about this, and the direction is completely up to you.
Step Three:
Once you know what direction you want to go in, you need to know how long you plan on living. You have to figure out if you plan on staying in one place for the rest of your life or if you want to try and go after your life's dream and go traveling. This last step can be very hard to do, but if you can find a mentor that has traveled before and is willing to teach you as they go, this can help immensely. It will shorten your learning curve and give you a great base to build on.
Step Four:
Finally, you need to establish goals with your purpose in mind. Write down your goals and write them down in writing. Then put a date on it and go after it. If you don't have any goals, just keep walking. Make your goals as specific as possible. Make sure they are attainable and written down in a way where you can look back on them later and be reminded of them.
There is no way to know your life purpose when you don't know yourself. Finding your life purpose doesn't have to be a long and difficult process. Take the first step today and start taking action towards it. There are no limits to your potential and if you put your heart into it, there really is no reason why you won't achieve it!
